Rethinking the

basic

Rethinking the basic is a series of textural rugs. The project utilizes the characteristics of the wool, knit and weave. By knitting the yarn it locks in air and rolls into a cord, the elasticity of the wool and knitted cord pulls the weaving together when taken off the loom and together it creates a spongy surface. The rugs explore the depth of the colours identity through warm and cold nuances, questioning how we comprehend them and enhance the texture of the rug through the checkerboard weave. A pure fiber rug, created with minimal cuts of the fibers, suitable for a circular system
